On June 2, 2011, PWSCC received a certified letter from the Commonwealth of Virginia Marine Resources Commission. Enclosed was a NOTICE TO COMPLY from the Chief, Habitat Management Division. Any and all mooring balls that are deployed adjacent to the community beach are in violation of Chapter 12 of Tide 28.2 of the Code of Virginia.
A copy of the notice can be found online @PWSCC.org. Per the law, a civil charge of up to $10,000 per violation may be assessed. In addition, any person who violates or fails to obey any Commission notice authorized under the above code may be assessed civil penalties not to exceed
$25.00 for each day of violation may be applied.
The board wishes to thank you for your cooperation, as we work for you to develop a plan that will allow everyone in Potomac Westmoreland Shores to be able to moor a jet ski, legally.

Neighborhood Watch
The Neighborhood Watch Program began in the Potomac Westmoreland Shores area in the year 1996.
Each year, 10 million serious crimes - more than half of the nation's total - go unreported. That is why years ago the Neighborhood Watch program was initiated. This program is simply you and your neighbors working together with local police to reduce criminal opportunity on our streets.

Colonial Beach Transit Bus
BAY TRANSIT -
Description: Bay Transit offers On-demand bus services for the Northern
Neck. Pick-up at your home, office, or other locations. Northern
Neck Service Areas: Lancaster, Northumberland, Richmond, and
Westmoreland Counties. Fare: $1 each way within one
county. $2 each way when crossing county lines. Scheduling:
Call 24 hours in advance to schedule a ride. Toll-free calls to (866)
445-8916 in Richmond County and (877) 869-6046 in Lancaster, Northumberland,
and Westmoreland Counties.
Also, Bay Transit operates a service Monday-Friday
from Colonial Beach to Dahlgren, leaving the town at 6 a.m. and starting
the return trip from Dahlgren at 4 p.m. The cost is $4 round-trip. For
